No club meeting in November

Hello Folks,

This is a reminder that we will not have a club meeting in November.
Our next club meeting will be Wednesday, December 13th at the Library, 700 E. Commons New Braunfels.  We are having the meeting early in December to not interfere with the Christmas holidays.
Chris Long will be our guest speaker.  Chris recently joined NBFF.  He is a professional guide and FFI certified casting instructor.  His topic will be all about fly lines.
Wishing everyone a great Thanksgiving.

2023 HOLDOVER TOURNAMENT

The 25+ participants of the New Braunfels Fly Fisher’s “Holdover Tournament” had a warm, sunny day to exercise their fly fishing craft.  The fish were also receiptive with a number of trout, a multitude of sunfish with a few smallmouth bass thrown in the mix.  The largest trout measured 21 inches.

November fly tying meeting Thursday Nov 2nd

Well 2023-2024 trout season is almost upon us.  I hope you’re looking forward to it as much as I am.  We will have our November fly tying meeting this coming Thursday from 6 to 8pm at the Westside Community Center, 2932 South Interstate Hwy Frontage Road in New Braunfels.
We will be tying a favorite trout fly, some say the number one fly, a Pheasant Tail Nymph with a few possible variations. The club will supply the needed materials for tying.  We have several sets of tying tools, but if you have your own, please feel free to bring them. Come join in and tie some for yourself and some for the monthly Fly Raffle held at each monthly club meeting.
Hope to see you there.
Gary and Jeff

You’ll learn how to read hydrometric and atmospheric charts and how to use them to your advantage when planning your fly fishing outing. He’ll show you how to interpret weather and water data to adjust for fronts, floods, and droughts. This class will be chock full of valuable, real-time information you won’t want to miss!
