NBFF at Troutfest TX 2025

NBFF AT TROUTFEST  TX 2025

We put up our canopy for our booth on a cold Thursday, February 20th, getting a great spot at L&L Campground for the festivities.  We returned on Saturday morning to a canopy covered in ice and a very cold day.  The rest of Saturday remained cold and dreary but turnout for Troutfest was exceptional and we entertained a lot of visitors with information about our club.  Our members tried to stay warm with both wood and propane fires.

Our raffle winner on Saturday was Gene Battaglia from Laurel Hills, Florida.  Gene won an Echo Ion reel and had traveled from Florida just to attend Troutfest.  He said he was looking forward to catching a lot of fish on the reel.

Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day with a lot of visitors enjoying Troutfest TX 2025 and the great weather.  Once again, we had a lot of visitors to our booth and hopefully the club will gain some new members.

Our raffle winner for Sunday was a young lady from Alaska.  She won a fly box with 20 flies that were proven patterns for the Guadalupe River.

Fly Tying Class

Hello,
Come join us for our February Fly Tying session this Thursday (Feb. 6th) from 6-8:00pm at the Westside Community Center, 2932 South Interstate Highway Frontage Road, New Braunfels.  The Guad Trout Season is in full swing so come on out and tie some Flies.  This month we will be tying one that I’ve had some personal recent success with, The WD-40 Fly.  This fly on a scale of 1-10 is probably a 4 or 5.  Come practice your tying skills.  So, come tie some for yourself and also for the monthly Fly Raffle at our monthly NBFF Club meetings.  The club will supply the needed materials.  So, bring your tying tools or if needed the club has several sets for use.  We will start at 6:00pm with a short tying skills video, then we will watch a video on tying the WD-40 Fly.
Hope to see you there.
