Handling and Releasing Fish

May be an image of fishing and text

Get our new, free publication, “Handling and Releasing Fish,” for anglers to lessen fish stress and catch-and-release mortality. It is available at MDC offices and nature centers, online at www.mdc.mo.gov or ordered through our Free Publications webpage at https://mdc.mo.gov/magazines/all-free-publications…

Even though this is a FREE publication from MO it does have information on handling and releasing fish. Right now it is catch and release season here. And some rivers and locations are fly’s only, no spinners and no bait allowed. Plenty of people are fishing and having fun and catching plenty of fish with the archaic method of fly fishing.

NBFF Fly Tying session Thursday November 17th

The NBFF Fly Tying session will be held this Thursday, November 7th, from 6-8:00 pm at the Westside Community Center, 2932 South IH T35 Frontage Road in New Braunfels.  This month we will be tying the Woolly Bugger fly.  This is a good streamer fly on the Guadalupe.  We will start promptly at 6 with a short educational video on fly tying and then we will watch the tying video on tying the Wooly Bugger.  The club will supply the needed tying materials and if needed we have several club tool sets, but please feel free to bring your own.  Tie a couple for yourself and some for the monthly fly raffle at our monthly club meeting.
Hope to see you there,
Gary
